Based in Goole, East Yorkshire close to Hull, Kelkay are one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and distributers of Garden Landscape products sold through nursuries, garden centres and DIY stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Brief
Kelkay had an existing website but it wasn’t working well for them. It didn’t reflect the quality of their brand, there was no way for them to show their different sub-brands, it was slow and it was difficult for them to update. It had also become clear that an online portal was the best way for them to share information with sales people and wholesalers and the existing website had no facility to support this.
The Work
An easy to use content management system was implemented to allow Kelkay to update all areas of their site, not only managing the text and image content of the site but also allowing management of colours and logos across category and product pages to ensure consistency for the sub-brand pages. To ensure the site is relevant to consumers as well as trade customers there is a stockist locator, calculators to work out how much aggregate they would require and downloads for paving guides and replacement instructions for their fountains.
A trade site was also created for Kelkay stockists and members of the sales team so they could login to get essential collateral to support them such as images, bar codes and point of sale downloads
The Outcome
Since the launch the site has had great positive feedback about the design, ease of use and has also seen an increase in traffic. The trade area is regularly used and is a huge time saver for Kelkay staff who no longer have to send out disks and hard copies of information as it can easily be downloaded from the website.
